SHOP SKILLS BRIDGING PROGRAM

  • Supplementary Program to shop classes (ME 32, ME 131, ME 136) to reinforce manufacturing knowledge with hands-on experience

  • Currently open for volunteers, but may be required by other courses in the future

  • Shop will provide certification that you have accomplished the bridging program

  • Small projects that cover necessary skills

    • Wood turning

    • Metal turning, including thread cutting

    • Milling, drilling

    • Sheet metal bending

    • Welding

    • Other manual operations

  • Prescribed time to accomplish

    • Wood shop: 6 hrs

    • Metal shop: 13 hrs

    • Sheet metal works: 6 hrs

    • Welding: 6 hrs

 

  • Supplemental videos will be provided so you can be familiar with equipment prior to performing hands-on operations

  • Wood Shop

    • 3 Work Stations

  • Metal Shop:

  • Foundry
